Marriage Proposal

Author's PoV

Krishna's and Radha's grandparents were chatting together. Parents and chacha, chachi in another table. All youngsters in one.

"Di, you look so beautiful. I am Netra."

A girl introduced.

"Thank you Netra, I am Radha. And you look mesmerising."

Radha replied back, to which Netra blushed.

"I am Videhi, Vihaan's twin."

They shake hands.

"This is Rahul bhai, Rithvik bhai, Ishaan bhai and Adi."

She introduced them to the Vardhan youngsters.

"Di, I am Nithin. Your painting back there was beautiful. And if it's okay you can call me Nithi."

Nithin told Radha.

"Sure and thank you Nithi."

She replied politely.

"This is Aan bhai and this is Krish Bhai."

Nithin introduced his brothers. She smiles.

Unknown to them was that the old couples were discussing something very important.

"Inder you never told me that your granddaughter is this beautiful. She is too cute, and precious, I like her a lot."

Yash told Inder.

"Even I like Krishna a lot. He is such a good chap. Both will look great together."

Inder replied.

"How about we match them?"

Saroja and Devika asked at the same time.

"Marriage proposal?"

Both Yash and Inder asked unison.

"Yes Baba."

Saroja replied.

"But you know, we will have to ask Radha as well as Krishna first."

Inder reminded them.

"Let's do one thing we will ask to Krishna and you ask to Radha beti (daughter)."

Yash told them.

"It's a deal then."

Inder said to which Yash thumbs up.

After few hours the Vardhan's went back to their residence and Varma's took off to sleep.

Next day morning.

Krishna along with Vihaan and Nithin went to workout. After two hours of workout they went back to their respective rooms, took a bath and assembled for their breakfast.

It was their Dada's rule that everyone should have breakfast together.

During breakfast there were some whispers. Krishna silently ate his breakfast.

"Krishna."

Yash called him.

"Dada."

He replied, knowing that his grandfather only calls him Krishna when there is something important.

"You are turning 28 in a few months. I want you to get married. We have fixed a girl."

Dada told him, while the youngsters watched curiously.

"Who?"

He asked, his voice sharp.

"Radha, my best friend Inder's granddaughter. You saw her yesterday."

Dada told him.

"Radha di."

Netra and Nithin told at the same time.

"Yes. And Krish you haven't replied."

His Dadi said.

"Do as all of you like."

He said, before leaving the table. He had a smirk on his face, but nobody saw it.

Krishna's PoV

When Dada told me about marriage I was a little nervous. But when they told her name, I internally screamed with happiness.

I told them to do as they liked. But internally I was so happy that she was going to be mine, my wife.

Radha's PoV

Yesterday's celebration was perfect. We all woke up late today.

I got ready and came downstairs to have breakfast, only to find my whole family assembled in the living room. Papa and my brothers were arguing over something to Dada. They were repeating that it's not possible.

"What's not possible guys?"

I asked them.

"Princess."

Papa called me. I raised my eyebrows to look for my answer.

"Princess, Baba wants to get you married."

Papa told me.

"What?"

I was in utter shock. Dada wants me to get married.

"Why Dada?"

I asked him, my voice betraying me.

"My little princess, come here."

Dada called me to him and asked me to sit.

"Princess, it's not that I want to marry you off this early. I trust your chosen groom to take good care of you."

Dada told me. I was trying to process everything.

"Who?"

I asked him.

"Krishna Gupta Vardhan, my best friend's grandson."

He told me. Why? Why was it him?

"It's your decision Princess, I won't force you, but I'll be happier if you would accept the proposal."

He told me, while I was trying to digest his words.

I stood up and went to my room to clear my mind. I was not in an ideal condition to talk now. I didn't know what to think.

My thoughts were interpreted by a knock on my door. I stood up and walked towards the door and opened it.

"Rahul Bhaiya."

I took his name.

"Can I come in Butterfly?"

He asked me. He calls me Butterfly because when I was young I always loved how butterflies flew freely and used to chase them.

I nodded my head and he came in and sat on my bed.

"You were thing about her?"

He asked me.

I looked him. I know I can't lie to him.

"I am scared bhaiya."

I confessed to him.

He hugged me. I hugged him back, while sobbing.

"Don't cry, she won't be happy if you cry."

He told me.

"And you don't have to marry him. I won't let anyone force you."

He told me.

I looked at him confused.

"But Dada?"

I asked him.

"He would never do anything against your wish butterfly. Not after her..."

He stopped in mid way.

'She's was all of our sore spot.

"Papa wanted me to check up on you. Now come, everyone is waiting for your decision. And remember that no matter what happens, I am here for you. We all are."

He told me and took my hands and went out to where everyone was.

I saw Dada and Dadi looking me very close, hoping for a positive response.

"Fine, I'll marry him. But if he ever mistreats me I will divorce him right way."

I told them. My Dada was the most happy while my Papa, Chachu, and my brothers stood there with sore faces.

Dada informed his friend of my decision and Yash Dada told that even his grandson told yes to the proposal.

Everything was decided. I will be someone's wife in a few months. New life, new responsibilities.
